U okviru projekta HEARTS – Healthcare Equity and Access for Resilient Targeted Support, koji se provodi kroz program prekogranične suradnje Interreg IPA Hrvatska – Bosna i Hercegovina – Crna Gora 2021.

Prijevod*

As part of the HEARTS project, the training of experts for working in the sensory room was held – the professional staff of the Public institution “Medical centre and the infirmary” Žepče participated

As part of the HEARTS – Healthcare Equity and Access for Resilient Targeted Support project, implemented under the Interreg IPA Cross-border Cooperation Programme Croatia – Bosnia and Herzegovina – Montenegro 2021–2027, an five-day training for work in a sensory room is being held in Vinkovci, at the premises of the Centre for the Provision of Community Services of Vukovar-Srijem County. The education was attended by employees of the the Public institution “Medical centre and the infirmary” Žepče, members of the project team, and professional staff who work with children with developmental disabilities.

The training brought together experts from partner institutions of the project, and focused on the application of sensory therapy in working with children and adults who have difficulties in sensory integration, as well as on strategies for successful regulation of challenging behaviors. The theoretical part of the education was based on modern approaches of sensory intelligence, while the practical part enables the participants to acquire concrete skills in using equipment and methods in working with users through real situations and examples.

The training took place in the premises of the Centre for the Provision of Community Services of Vukovar-Srijem County in Vinkovci, where, in addition to the training, the professional staff had the opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices with experts from Croatia and Montenegro. This education represents an important step towards strengthening the capacity of experts in the cross-border area, but also towards creating more accessible and inclusive services for vulnerable groups. The HEARTS project is aimed at reducing inequality in access to health and social services, and investments in education and infrastructure like this sensory room are a concrete example of the sustainable changes that the project brings.
