U Žepču je 5. ožujka 2026. godine održana radionica s ključnim dionicima posvećena izradi i predstavljanju Regionalnog akcionog plana (RAP) za razvoj kulturnog i kreativnog turizma. Radionica je organizirana u okviru projekta Danube Wood(s) Route, koji se provodi uz podršku Interreg programa Dunavske regije, a na kojem je Razvojna agencija Žepče jedan od partnera.
Radionica je okupila predstavnike Turističke zajednice Zeničko-dobojskog kantona, Općine Žepče, Razvojne agencije Žepče, kulturno-umjetničkih društava, obrazovnih institucija i stručnjake Ekonomskog instituta Sarajevo. Cilj susreta bio je identificirati ključne potencijale i definirati smjernice za razvoj turizma koji se temelji na prirodnoj i kulturnoj baštini općine Žepče.
Regionalni akcioni plan izradili su stručnjaci Ekonomskog instituta Sarajevo, a predstavili su ga prof. emeritus dr. Jasmina Osmanković i prof. dr. Sead Vojniković. Istaknuto je da općina Žepče raspolaže značajnim prirodnim resursima – čak 62 % teritorija pokriveno je šumom, dok serpentinitna zona predstavlja stanište bogate i rijetke flore, uključujući i endemske vrste poput bosanskog ljiljana. Na području općine evidentirano je 45 vrsta sa Crvene liste Federacije BiH, 19 endemskih biljnih vrsta, 13 vrsta šišmiša i više od 50 vrsta ptica, što predstavlja značajan potencijal za razvoj turizma zasnovanog na prirodi. Posebno je istaknuto područje Matinskog visa kao vrijedno područje biodiverziteta s potencijalom za razvoj održivog turizma.
U diskusiji je naglašena potreba povezivanja prirodnih atrakcija, kulturne baštine, gastronomije, planinarskih ruta, promatranja ptica i vjerskog turizma u jedinstvenu turističku ponudu, uz primjenu koncepta „storytellinga“ u interpretaciji lokalne baštine.
Kao jedan od konkretnih koraka u tom pravcu uskoro će biti raspisan javni poziv za izbor autentičnog suvenira općine Žepče, s ciljem poticanja lokalnih obrtnika, umjetnika i dizajnera da razviju suvenire inspirirane prirodnim bogatstvom, drvom i tradicijom ovog kraja.
Kroz aktivnosti projekta Danube Wood(s) Route i implementaciju Regionalnog akcionog plana stvaraju se temelji za razvoj novih turističkih proizvoda i jačanje pozicije Žepča kao prepoznatljive zelene destinacije u dunavskoj regiji.
Žepče Develops Cultural and Creative Tourism – Public Call for Souvenir Selection to Be Announced Soon
On 5 March 2026, a workshop with key stakeholders dedicated to the development and presentation of the Regional Action Plan (RAP) for the development of cultural and creative tourism was held in Žepče. The workshop was organised within the framework of the Danube Wood(s) Route, implemented with the support of the Interreg Danube Region Programme, in which the Razvojna agencija Žepče participates as a project partner.
The workshop brought together representatives of the Tourist Board of Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Municipality of Žepče, the Development Agency Žepče, cultural and artistic associations, educational institutions and experts from the Economic Institute Sarajevo. The aim of the meeting was to identify key potentials and define guidelines for tourism development based on the natural and cultural heritage of the Municipality of Žepče.
The Regional Action Plan was prepared by experts from the Economic Institute Sarajevo and presented by Jasmina Osmanković and Sead Vojniković. It was highlighted that the Municipality of Žepče possesses significant natural resources—approximately 62% of its territory is covered by forests, while the serpentine zone represents a habitat of rich and rare flora, including endemic species such as the Bosnian lily. Within the municipality, 45 species from the Red List of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, 19 endemic plant species, 13 bat species, and more than 50 bird species have been recorded, representing substantial potential for nature-based tourism development. Particular attention was given to the Matinski Vis area as a valuable biodiversity site with potential for sustainable tourism development.
During the discussion, the need to connect natural attractions, cultural heritage, gastronomy, hiking routes, birdwatching and religious tourism into a unified tourism offer was emphasised, together with the application of the storytelling concept in the interpretation of local heritage.
As one of the concrete steps in this direction, a public call for the selection of an authentic souvenir of the Municipality of Žepče will soon be announced, aiming to encourage local craftsmen, artists and designers to develop souvenirs inspired by the natural wealth, wood heritage and traditions of this area.
Through the activities of the Danube Wood(s) Route project and the implementation of the Regional Action Plan, foundations are being created for the development of new tourism products and for strengthening the position of Žepče as a recognisable green destination within the Danube region.
